Westward Cup 2010
15 juillet 2010
The first edition of the Westward Cup has just finished in Cowes. The fine weather was there, the wind was enough to race every day, although never constant enough to run an around the Island race – the yachtsmen went home happy.
Although several boats were invited, the final line up consisted of only four yachts and unfortunately the principal yacht, Eleonora (the replica of Westward) broke her two topmasts during training the day before the event started.
A team of craftsmen at Marine Enterprises, Yarmouth, under the direction of Bob Snow, are working around the clock to make replacements from their stock of Oregon pine, so as she can leave for Jersey on the 19th of July as programmed.
