Pearl Regatta – lagon Tahaa/Raïatea
En 2008, je suis allé faire un reportage dans les îles de la Société pour le journal Bateaux. Avec le journaliste-écrivain Thierry Montoriol, nous avons embarqué sur un Océanis 473 gentiment prêté par la société de location Sunsail et navigué de Bora Bora à Huahiné en passant par Tahaa et Raïatea.

In 2008 I spent a week in French Polynesia in the Society Islands, for the French magazine Bateaux. The British charter company Sunsail provided journalist/author, Thierry Montoriol, and myself with an Oceanis 473 for the week. We left their base in Raiatea to cruise around Tahaa to Huahiné and Bora Bora.
We were there at the same time as the Pearl Regatta that is held each year in the Tahaa/Raiatea lagoon and spent an evening with the competitors on Tahaa. We also visited a pearl farm on Tahaa run by a French couple who sailed to Polynesia in their yacht nearly twenty years before.
